Can you introduce Carswitch?
Our aim at CarSwitch is to transform how people buy and sell cars by moving the whole process online. In a nutshell, the way we want to do that is by offering trust and convenience to our customers.
For buyers, this means every car is inspected and warrantied and the results posted on CarSwitch.com, down to pictures of every single scratch. So, no more time-consuming trips to see cars that surprise you with unexpected faults.
For sellers, we take the entire process off your hands. Our specialists will come to your location to photograph and inspect your car. We will then advertise, answer all the phone calls, arrange the test drives and guide you through all the paperwork.
Can you talk about your
short and long-term business goals?
We started in Mid 2016, had a beta out in 60 days and since then the pace has only accelerated. So far, the portal has interacted with over 10.000 sellers, received over a million sessions, and have about 700 cars.
Ultimately, our vision is to make car buying as simple as flicking a switch online. You find your dream car online and we take care of everything in the background.

What were some of the main challenges
Carswitch was facing?
A car is one of the largest value items we buy. Therefore, we all do a lot of research before buying and most people spend weeks browsing classified sites to find what they are looking for. We thought there had to be a better way to do this.
We wanted to understand a specific user’s journey on our platform and show them vehicles which are much more suited to their specific needs rather expect them to stumble upon their dream car on their own. We genuinely believe that this would dramatically improve buyer experience and help sellers get their cars in front of relevant buyers
How did you decide to move forward with Segmentify?
We conceptually knew the answer but realized that building a compelling technical solution required a lot of experimentation. We chose Segmentify primalary, for its speed to market and flexibility. We wanted to move quickly and not spend months debating the answer. The first version of Segmentify was plug & play and went live within days.

In addition to a quick first-answer, we needed a system that was flexible enough to integrate complex custom algorithm that we wanted to build in-house. We are most of the way through implementing our algorithm and have found the Segmentify system to be highly flexible. So, the combination of flexibility and speed to market is why we ended up chosing Segmentify.

We have been using Segmentify for 6 months and it has helped improve our conversion rates by 15%. In addition, we believe buyers are having a much better experience on C arswitch.com because they see cars that are much more relevant to their needs.

What I loved most about Segmentify is their success team. We experiment a lot and the team is accessible and responsive. To give you a more concrete example, we wanted the user to feel no lag with the introduction of Segmentify. Segmentify’s success team worked very closely with our tech team to make sure that the script and all the algorithms loaded under half a second. So the end users wouldn’t feel anything differently.
